Using this site and these terms

These terms cover your use of this website and any work you hire Premier Atherton Concrete to do. When you browse the site, ask for an estimate or book a job with us, you agree to them, so please read them before you go ahead.

If you hire us, your written estimate or contract is the main agreement for your job. Where it says something different from this page, the estimate or contract wins, because it was written for your house and your project.

What we do

We're a concrete contractor in Atherton, CA, and we pour and repair driveways, patios, walkways, steps, garage floors, pool decks, retaining walls, foundations and other concrete work around Atherton and the cities near it. The home page lists our services, and our about page tells you more about the crew.

The descriptions on this site explain our work in general terms. What we'll actually do at your house, how thick the slab is, what finish it gets and how we prepare the base are set out in your written estimate.

Estimates and pricing

Estimates are free, and we give them on site, because concrete prices depend on what's under the ground, how the water drains, how easy it is to get a truck in and what has to be torn out first. There's no pressure and no obligation to hire us.

An estimate covers the work it describes, at the time it's written. If we open the job and find something nobody could see beforehand, like soft soil under the old slab, buried debris or roots that have to come out, we'll stop and talk with you about it before we do extra work or change the price.

Prices or examples shown anywhere on this website are general information only and aren't an offer for your job.

Scheduling, weather and cancellation

We'll agree on a start date with you, but concrete depends on the weather, so we may move a pour if it's raining, very hot or very cold. Pouring in the wrong conditions can leave a weak, dusty surface, and we'd rather wait a day than give you a slab that fails early.

If you need to cancel or move your job, call us at (650) 516-3703 as soon as you can. Once materials are ordered or the site is dug out and formed, you may owe for the work done and materials bought up to that point, as your contract describes.

Some concrete work may need a permit from your city. If a permit or an inspection delays the start, the schedule moves with it.

Payment

Your contract sets out what's due, when it's due and how you can pay. Any deposit and payment schedule will be written into your contract before work begins, so there are no surprises on the day of the pour.

If a payment is late, we may pause the work until it's settled. California law may give contractors certain rights to secure payment for work done on a property, and nothing on this page gives up those rights.

Your part of the job

Please tell us about anything buried in the work area that you know of, like sprinkler lines, drain pipes, septic lines or private wiring, because those don't always show up when utilities are marked. We take care around them, but we can't be responsible for damage to lines nobody told us about or that weren't marked.

New concrete needs time to cure, which is the wait while it hardens and gains its strength. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk on and when it's safe to drive on, and damage from using it sooner, or from skipping the care steps we give you, isn't covered.

Our trucks and equipment need a path to the work area, and some wear to lawns or plantings along that path is normal. We'll talk with you about access before we start.

Our guarantee and what it doesn't cover

Our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee, and we're fully licensed and insured. Any specific written warranty for your job will be stated in your contract, and only what's written there applies.

Concrete can still develop small hairline cracks as it shrinks and the ground moves. We cut control joints, which are grooves that give the slab a planned place to crack, so any cracking goes where it does the least harm, but no contractor can promise a slab will never crack.

Color, texture and pattern can vary from one pour to the next and from samples or photos, especially on stamped and decorative finishes. Damage from tree roots, ground movement, flooding, de-icing salts, heavy vehicles the slab wasn't built for, or other people's work isn't covered.

Information on this website is provided as is, for general guidance. It's not a substitute for an on-site look at your project.

Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, Premier Atherton Concrete isn't liable for indirect or follow-on losses, like lost use of your property, lost income or the cost of other projects tied to ours. Our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

Some of these limits may not apply where California law doesn't allow them. In that case, they apply as far as the law permits.

If something goes wrong

Call us first. Most problems get sorted out quickly when we come back out and look at the slab together, and we'd much rather fix something than argue about it.

If we can't settle it between us, we both agree to try mediation in good faith before going to court. Either of us can still use small claims court for disputes that qualify.

Which law applies

These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any court case that goes ahead will be handled in the state or federal courts in California, in the county where the work was done.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page from time to time. The version posted here when you hire us is the one that applies to your job, and changes after that won't alter a contract you've already signed.

If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
